Henry J. “Hank” Haggerty, 46 of Spalding, NE passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. Michael’s Catholic Parish Center in Spalding, NE with Fr. Don Buhrman and Fr. James Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at Dolce-Scheef Mortuary in Spalding, with a 7 p.m. wake service.

Henry John Haggerty, son of Harold and Rose (Eckard) Haggerty, was born December 29, 1965 at Grand Island, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Church in Spalding, NE and attended Spalding Public School, graduating with the class of 1985.

Following high school, Hank had several jobs in the Grand Island and Spalding areas. For the last many years, he has worked as a hired hand for Stromp Salvage near Spalding. He always enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, older cars, trucks and tractors. He also looked forward to playing with his nieces, nephews and many other kids. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed.

Hank will always be remembered for his lovable sense of humor and his kind heartedness.

He is survived by his mother Rose Haggerty of Spalding, NE; six sisters: Roberta, Pauline and Linda Haggerty of Spalding, NE; Ann (Joel) Glaser of Spalding, NE; Frances Bauer of Wood River, NE; Claire (Bob) Landers of St. Paul, NE; one brother Leo (Gina) Haggerty of St. Paul, NE; nine nieces: Valerie, Amber, Jana, Jodi and Alliegh Glaser; Melissa Bauer; Jalee and Ki Haggerty; Tesla Landers; one nephew: Andrew Bauer; two great-nephews: Evan and Charlie Polen; aunts and uncles: Ernie (Linda) Eckard of McCool Junction, NE; Delores (Dwain) Kranz of Eddyville, NE; Charles Eckard of Spalding, NE; Sarah Eckard of Oconto, NE; Anna Marie Haggerty of Spalding, NE.

Hank was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and two brothers: James and Louis.
